It’s been some unlucky experience for me lately every time I decided to dine in a so called hype restaurant. Still remember my bad experience at The Sanctuary? A couple of weeks ago, I was dining at Planet Hollywood and the same bad karma was over me. I ordered beef steak and Caroline decided to go for lamb chop. While taking the order, the waiter made it clear they need 20 mins to prepare the lamb chop and I said okay that we’ll wait.

Unfortunately, we waited for over an hour when the waiter came and said “I’m so sorry sir. There was a mistake. My colleague sent your meal to the wrong table. Can you wait another 20 minutes?”

Imagine we’ve waited for over an hour and were told again to wait another 20 mins because of some incompetent staff did a silly error? I was too kind that day and I said “It’s okay. We’ll wait then. By the way, can you send something for us to nibble while waiting (for the food)?”

PH Waiter: What would you like sir?

Now! When I asked for this, I’d expect it to be on the house as a complimentary for their sillines

s!!! Our foods finally made it to our table and must I be fair in my comment that both the steak and the lamb chop were heavenly delicious that I momentarily forgotten we were punished to wait for the meal.

When I asked for the bill, I checked the items and as I had anticipated, they charged me RM10 for the bloody fries instead of considering it as a complimentary. I was absolutely displeased but as not to make a fuss over a ten ringgit extra charge, I just paid the full amount. However, I left as one angry customer. Yes, it may be only ten ringgit and it’s nothing if we look at it in terms of monetary value. I’m unhappy because as an international food chain, their customer service values at only RM10.

Would the scenario be different if I was to sit there with some mat-salleh? Would I be appreciated differently instead?
