Bebek Bengil or Dirty Duck Diner in Ubud Bali is really an excellent restaurant. It first opened in 1990 and has since been serving delicious signature foods and providing wonderful and friendly service that make visitors keep coming back to enjoy its relaxed and unique atmosphere.

The restaurant is packed with mostly tourists and some locals. The lounge is spacious, creating an inviting atmosphere while customers are waiting to be seated.

I ordered the house special, Bebek Bengil or roasted duck with special sauce. Out of 5, I would rate it 4.2 because the duck was a bit small and overcooked leaving the meat too dry. Somewhat more the side dish is too simple for a house special. The special sauce helps it score a higher rating.

My Mrs. ordered chicken chop in a homemade special gravy. For a starter, I ordered duck’s liver paste with salad. Nothing special about the chicken chop, hence I’d rate it 3.8. However, the duck liver is out of the world! 4.5 goes to the duck liver.

Ubud Street is the house special beverage. For this, I rate the drink 4.8. I liked it so much that I ordered one more glass.

Dirty Duck Diner attracted my attention because of it unique setup and location. Besides from having normal dining tables in the main hall, it also caters for group dining in cabanas. The backyard of the restaurant is actually paddy fields, creating a relaxed village atmosphere.

If you’re in Bali next time, I’d recommend you check out Dirty Duck Diner to experience something different. balidriver4u.com can take you there!
