Retro Chocolate
Remember Ding Dang? I found it at 7-Eleven the other day and decided to buy it to find out how has it evolved over the years …

Those growing up in the 80’s would remember this chocolate coated biscuit ball. It used to sponsor evening cartoons on TV1 and TV2 when Astro was non-existent.

I was disappointed when I opened the box. The quality of the toy has declined. It was darn cheapskate and unusable. The car is made of plastic and how on earth kids wanna play as the car has got no wheels.

The flavour of the chocolate ball is still the same. However, the amount has been reduced and so was the size.

Anyway, nice to see Ding Dang is still around ![]()

the other day, i took a walk at main bazaar (Kuching) across the old market. i checked out a shop that sells snack food in bulks and guess what? i still see them selling the “pok”. we call it “main pok” remember! the one that you pay 10 sen and you get to pick out one of the many small papers stuck on a big card board. if you are lucky you get 50 sen or even a ringgit or else just some sweets or nothing at all. i guess thats how we start to get the idea of playing 4 d hahaha

geng, yeah i miss the old st mike too, its kolo mee and also the tomato mee. i do visit the new St. Mike (next to Timberland) but its not the same lah. but the kolo mee there is quite good, do try it when ur back. yeah i sometime go to summer house too just for old time sake. the museum aquarium also not same, remember the old boyak there last time? everything change. anyway since you’re a photographer, i think you should take some pics of places in kuching likely to be developed. at least we older generation can always relate to them fondly.
