New Bidayuh kampung with confused identity
Today I want to blog in Manglish because I have no mood already. I read The Borneo Post today and the news on the front page gutted me. I feel so sick that I want to throw up. The news is so disgusting that it is smellier than my fart.
“A community is born” - says the headline on The Borneo Post’s headline today.
Walauwei … what is this lah brader! First the Bidayuh kampung folks were robbed off their ancestral land to give way to the building of the Bengoh Dam. Ok lah … it’s a noble act. Sacrificing the ancestral land for the sake of the development of the state. After all, they are compensated … I hope very well compensated, and are also being relocated to a new settlement.
But what makes me sick is that, the name of the new settlement. Apa ni, wei!!! No other name kah? Why name a Bidayuh kampung such a name? After all, I think there are so many buildings, roads and skills that are being named after this name already lah. If really want to name the kampung after a fellow national figure, find lah other figures. Like my friend said, the kampung sound like UNITAR leh. Aiyooo … why like that one?
Naming this kampung as such, makes the Bidayuh lose their identity. If an outsider visit the kampung, for sure one lah, the first thing that comes to their mind, they don’t expect this a Bidayuh kampung. Hmmm … what happen to our Bidayuh leaders? How come you never challenge this? Why no Bidayuh leaders standing up for this issue? Is it because it is election time that our Bidayuh leaders are afraid to defend this?
Bidayuh language is so rich of vocabularies that can be picked up as nice names for the kampung. Can change or not?

Haiyaaa….. Our leaders are educated but this time i should call them STUPID! REALLY STUPID. WHY KAMPUNG TUN RAZAK? WHY NOT KAMPUNG PADAWAN BARU OR KAMPUNG PENRISSEN BARU OR KPG BENGOH DAM (I AGREE WITH YOU SILVESTAR).
SO WHAT’S WRONG WITH OUR KAMPUNG PEOPLE STAY 20 HOUSES HERE, 30 HOUSES THERE AND ANOTHER 50 HOUSES THERE… ??? NEW COMMUNITY IS BORN… YUCK!!
WITH THE COMPENSATION OF RM 10K - RM20K, WHAT CAN THEY DO? ALL THIS WHILE, THEY HAVE THEIR PADDY FIELD, ORCHARD AND KEBUN LADA. AFTER THE RESETTLEMENT, THEY WILL ONLY HAVE THEIR ‘NEW LOW COST HOUSE’ AND RM10 - 20K TO SPEND FOR FOOD, EDUCATION AND DAILY NEEDS FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE. MY GODNESS… WHERE GOES THE BRAIN OF BIDAYUH LEADERS???
HOW MUCH DID YOU SELLS OUR LAND AND WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO THAT TO YOUR OWN PEOPLE…THE BIDAYUH?

The BIDAYUH WILL SOON LOOSE THEIR CULTURE AND IDENTITY IF THEY ACCEPT THE NAME OF ‘TUN RAZAK’ for the resettlement caused by BENGOH DAM! see what happened to BTG AI People. Come on BIDAYUH WAKE UP. Dont FEED SELF-INTEREST OF OUR YBs WHO BETRAYED THEIR OWN PEOPLE. The name of places and locality is unique and synonimous to the BIDAYUH DECENDENT. Why is it name ‘TUN RAZAK’?

ayo…..i oso fed up with this politic thing…come on new generation,,,,,i hope in 7 years time we will stand up & figth for our own good….yes asih aga damai dgn tenteram…semua inya ira…but we figth for our identity & wat we can do in the business world, education, r&d, social…i bealive we can….eeeee wats our yb do aaaaaaa i also dont know…if they really do something i would like to see 1 tall bidayuh building or bidayuh complex….

they have a lot of smart people but i dont think any of them passed their maths in school. cannot even do simple calculation.

Very Interesting.
The Bidayeh in ten years time will become an extinct tribe fit to be placed in a musuem just like the Dayaks of America or namely called the Red Indians.
Presently as you are aware one out every one Bidayeh household is married off to another non … who prey on the sweetnees of Bedayeh girls. And a Bedayeh parent is forced to let go her daughter to … the same goes to the Bedayeh guys who looks down on his own Bidayeh girls… so lama ke lama bedayeh hilang dari muka bumi, Iban pun sama, kayan pun same, orang ulu pun sama.. semua mau masuk musuem. Just look 500 meters around you and you see in in front of your own eyes.just ask yourself.. do you have a sister or a brother who falls into this trap ?
Now the bidayuh kampungs also become musuem name and what a name to give.. where is the thought to give it a bedayeh name. What are the so called bedayeh leaders doing about this. Semua takut ke? Semua maahu kaya sendiri sahaaja ke? kalau takut don’t ever hold the menteri positions and selling off you own tribe.
Anyway, if nothing can be done about it, let us go all go to become an item in the BIDAYUH MUSEUM which I recommend to be set up with a capital musuem in Serian and a branch in Bau, Lundu, and a mini branch in Tebedu, Penrissen and Padawan……

aku orang kpg bengoh.keja kat kl.masa aku balit kpg gawai ya tadik,tekezut ku nanga punya la besar jalan mk pgi dam ya.nang dlam kpg!lori besar2 jak jalan sia!sbnarnya org dayak tok baik gilak,apa2 kputusan gov,cdak auk jak.bukan bdayuh jak,iban,org ulu,sama jak lah..aku gik ingat la dolok2,mk blik kpg,kena pkai prahu.then,ada jalan but still kena harung 2 jam.then,ada la jalan borneo heights,paling lama pun sejam la.cuma aku kcian knek tok ngan warga2 kpg semban,kpg said…n lain yg jdi mangsa dam tok.hilang dah tanah cdak ya yg pertahankan turun tmurun.whats left 4 them???gov memang byr ganti rugi,bgi tanah,but life will never be the same.utk kaleng gawai,memang benar padah kau pmpuan bdyuh tok byk kawen laki bngsa lain,tpi ya small matter la.lgpun ya dpt kukuhkan lagi perpaduan,jgn jak kawen ngan “M”…ya susah kit sebab grenti brubah identiti habis,n possibly anak kau xkan ngaku nya mpun dayak.belum!tapi akan datang satu masa bila suma org dayak bsatu mun cdak rasa kpentingan cdak diabaikan.stakat tok still ok.

I think our bidayuh must have be awake all this while. Kita patut trima sigala ubah pimudip adep . Aba ira dog nakal bada inya da ira gila kuasa labih-labuh lagi bada bangsa adep. Kita patut bejuang untuk bangsa kita supaya kita dapat bipikir lebih matang duwah ngundah segala hal. Perubahan harus bemula da andu ti sien kita dapat tubek nasib kita dan anak kita da sunih anu mati pagi. Kita patut pertahan hak milik kita masu turunan tayung babeh kita sien kaie don rumpak bada bangsa beken. sibagi cunto hak tana kita da makin dog rumpak tinan nguntung inya da bikuasa/ kaya dgn bisnes.
