Richard Riot, the five-term MP for Serian in Sarawak, has resigned from his party after being snubbed over a cabinet post. Riot blamed SUPP does not care for the Dayaks especially the Bidayuh community. Approximtaely 5000 of his loyal supporters also followed suit.
Sad but true! There are no Bidayuh ministers in the new Cabinet line-up this time around. Unlike in the last cabinet, where we have a representation of the Bidayuh community by Datuk Dr. Tiki Lafe as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Regional and Rural Development, the new cabinet line-up did not offer any opportunities for the surviving three Bidayuh MPs to hold post as deputy ministers, what more to say as full ministers.
