Planet Hollywood, Kuala Lumpur, 26 June 2008 – Dayang Nurfaizah is back at Planet Hollywood, ready to party with her fans on her birthday, 20th July 2008. It has been an ongoing tradition for Dayang to celebrate her birthday with her fans since 2003, and this year is certainly no exception.
20th July 2008 will prove to be an exciting night as Dayang will be recording a live audio album of the night’s performance. Fans will see Dayang render songs from her first right up to her sixth album where all the songs selected for the night have been rearranged for a different feel to commemorate the recording of this live album. This will be Dayang’s gift to her fans for their loyal and undying support.
The recording of a live album is always more challenging than recording in a studio setting as it would be quite a challenge for Dayang to reinterpret familiar songs in a different environment as well as sing some older songs which she has not performed for a long time. It has always been Dayang’s dream to record a live album as she is free to express emotions and movement during a live show. Recording a live show is also overwhelming and gives a bigger impact to Dayang when her fans are directly contributing to the vibe of her performance.
Dayang Nurfaizah will be backed by some of the finest musicians in the Malaysian music industry for this night’s special performance – Jenny Chin as Musical Director and on second keyboards, Mac Chew on keyboard, Aji on guitar, Andy Peterson on bass and Lewis Pragasam on drums.
As this year marks Dayang’s 9th year in the Malaysian music industry and being thankful that she has stood her ground at an admirable level in the industry, Dayang will be giving back by embarking on her own charity fund called the ‘Dayang Sayang Kamu Fund’. This will be the first time Dayang will be selling her personal items such as accessories, outfits and shoes to raise funds for her charity of choice that needs dire assistance.
So, calling all loyal fans who would like to own a ‘Dayang’ souvenir as well as support Dayang in her effort to raise funds for charity, 20th July 2008 will be the night to purchase the items available. This sale is also set to be an ongoing process at all Dayang’s live shows where fans can be a part of her charity awareness exercise. Apart from her own personal items, Dayang’s own merchandise, such as the recently-launched ‘MTV Karaoke Inginku Miliki’ album will also be on sale at Planet Hollywood.
