Best Sarawak Laksa is in Bangsar
Where can you find the best Sarawak Laksa in the Klang Valley that taste close to home?

I’ve tried almost all the known laksa stalls around Klang Valley including the ones at Laksa Shack, BBC and Borneo Rainforest. Most of them are very oily and tend to overdo the kuah laksa (gravy) but this one really taste like home’s. It comes with three pieces of medium size shrimp, sliced omellete and shredded chicken. Truly a Kuching affair!

Aunt Christina’s Sarawak Laksa is located at Lucky Garden Bangsar at a corner coffee shop called Nam Chun. Nam Chun is packed every morning with office workers and retirees having their breakfast by the pavement just outside the shop. Normally if you come after 8am, it’s quite a challenge to get a place to sit.

The stall owner, Madam Christina hailed from Padungan and has been living in KL for 13 years. She’s been running the laksa stall for the past 10 years and business has been really a brisk. I’ve patronised her stall many times and she’s always been busy with her orders. She’s helped by her husband and an Indonesian assistant, who was so excited when I photographed her. ![]()

How to get there?
If you’re from the direction of Mid Valley or Brickfields head towards Jalan Maarof. You will pass by a Petronas (on the left side of the road) before you reach the traffic light. Filter left towards Jalan Ara. You will see Bangsar Mosque on your right. Turn into the first junction on your left. Drive ahead and make a 360 turn at the roundabout. Filter left to Lorong Ara Kiri. You will see Alliance Bank. Nam Chun is at the opposite end of the shop row.
