Room Review: Awana Kijal Terengganu

3 February 2009 787 views 10 Comments

The weekend prior to Chinese New Year, Carol and I went to Terengganu for an overnight at Awana Kijal. We were suppose to visit my best friend at JB to see their new house but there was slight change in the plan hence we headed to the east coast for a replacement. I know, i know … the Mrs is in her 6th month and yet we can’t seem to sit still. I reckon this would be our last long haul destination before we restrict our activities within the Klang Valley radius only.

We booked online, the room promotion for RM369 per night which was RM200 more than low season offer. A promise is a promise hence without hesitation I confirmed the booking as the Mrs was looking forward for this trip upon my return from Jakarta.

The lady at the reception counter was kind enough to check us in a king sized room. Maybe after seeing that Carol is with a bump.

The room is very spacious. It has all the 5-star facilities minus internet access. Wi-fi is only available at certain areas within the resort.

One feature that I like about Awana Kijal room is, there’s a window between the bath and bed room. You can soak in the hot tub while watching your favourite tv programme.

Here’s another view through that window from inside the bath room.

The shower and toilet are also separated from each other hence allowing multiple use simultaneously.

We spent our stay within the resort vicinity. It rained cats and dogs throughout our entire stay.

The sea condition was quite rough but there were sightings of the resort’s guests risking their own safety, swimming in the water.

The next day, we checked-out and headed back to KL. By the way, our trip to Kemaman will not be complete without stuffed crab lunch at Restoran Malaysia, vietnamese coffee at Hai Peng and keropok shopping at Teluk Geliga. They almost become a ritual whenever we visit Chukai Town.
