Silence is Golden?

6 February 2009 401 views 15 Comments

This blog receives an average of 109 unique visitors, 97 first timers and 11 returning visitors per day. Between Jan 1st 2009 until Feb 4th 2009, there’s a total of 396 returning visitors or loyal followers, I would presume.

I do recognised that headsteadi.com is not a bloggerity site, which I thought that if it was the case, the total hits would be much better than 161/day average.

Since Jan 1st until Feb 4th, I’ve published 15 postings with an average of 20 view counts per posting. Out of that, only 24.2% visitors were kind enough to leave their comments. What happened to the rest? Too many silent readers, I concur.

This blog is ain’t a library, my dear gentle readers. I appreciate your feedbacks/comments. Let me know your thoughts. Come on … I trust you can do better than this.

Perhaps I should reward my top commentators every 6 months? How does AirAsia voucher (worth RM100) sounds like to you? Attractive enough? I ain’t joking. I mean business (Check out the sidebar. Top commentator poll is already up!). My Adsense revenue is enough to cover the cost. So, how about  speaking up your mind starting from now?

I used to care so much about the number of comments I received per post. Those with “0″ comment sometimes can be very demotivating. Now, I seldom care about the number of comments I received anymore. But sometimes it still bothers me a little, while seeing other bloggers can have lots of comments even that is just a single post about his/her life. (jeolousnya)

Haha..anyway, I think your blog is great. It’s recommended to those who love to travel and love to learn more about different cultures. Keep up the good work.

Apple # It’s not about I care much or care less, or whether it bothers me so much that no one commented. After all as my tagline says, “mY bLog, mY wAy”. Nevertheless, I like 2 way communications. Be it someone else’s thoughts/experience, be it agreeing or disagreeing. It helped me to understand things better. It helped me to know whether what I write helps others in any way or it’s just crap. Because sometimes I do post craps especially when I’m running out of idea or when I’m super busy with daily routines. So far February has been great for me as I’ve so many ideas … *-:)

The AirAsia voucher is just a token of appreciation and not a bribe … :D hehehehe

Well I hope that this idea and incentive of yours would generate a big turnaround on comments to your blog. I’m here to stay just for the reason that I enjoy reading your blog and you know that. Thanks Herman and please don’t call me Mdm,it sounds too formal hehe..:P

Measuring your existence, headsteadi? Lol. Here’s an idea… instead of the airasia (where everybody can fly), try giving Mas (cheap now what), or a hotel room voucher. :-)

Eh… how do I change my password to this site? so hard to memorize…

One Other # The AA voucher is an idea or a default gift. Would consider other gifts that you like as long as it’s worth RM100.

One Other # Two ways to do it:

Wah… Good way to attract comments.

But it’s a little troublesome.. but yeah.. spam comments have been becoming increasingly horrible this few weeks.

  • cdason said: MyAvatars 0.2

by the way, what if someone were to leave so many comments just to win the voucher. I mean, like what I’m doing*WINK*…

See.. I already give you 4 comments in one day.. hahahaha.. Is the comment left legit??

that’s ok bro. as long not purposely doing a post filler like “i’m in”, “i’m 1st”, “brb” etc … i think you know what i mean … these comments i’ll mark as spam so as not to influence the legit result of the poll.

btw, i consider all your 4 comments today as “layak bertanding” as they are not post filler …
