Carol & I had been maid hunting over the weekend as an early preparation for that new change in our life once the baby is due. Last Saturday we went to Phillimore Maids Agency headquarters located at Old Klang road to make a price survey. The agency also has two branches located at PJ and Cheras respectively. We were attracted to check this agency because it’s one of the established and popular agencies in the Klang Valley.
As we entered the office, which is setup like a travel agency their maid consultants were busy entertaining customers. We were greeted by one of the maid consultant. I explained to her our purpose and asked for a quotation for hiring Indonesian and Filipino maid. The consultant quoted us as below:
Indonesian maid: Processing fee RM7000; Monthly salary: RM600-700
Filipino maid: Processing fee RM10,000; Monthly salary: RM1000
If that’s a price that we have to pay for a good and excellent maid service then it looks like we just have to fork out that huge sum of money. However, considering the consultant’s lack of interest and arrogance in entertaining our enquiries, I did not have a second thought and striked out Phillimore from our wish list. I whispered to the Mrs, “Let’s walk out and find other agencies …”.
Mission not yet accomplised. The hunting continues …

I’ve used their service twice, once at SS2 and this will be the final time at Old Klang Road in the past 3 years.
The consultant as what you have mentioned, badly servicing us. Especially afther you have paid money, no selection of maid, they treated customer “Want just take, don’t want wait.” … the tone of servicing also making me angry, could not be bother after money in their pocket.
this PHILIMORE is SUCK!!! i got 1 indo maid from this branch… runaway after 4 months… there do nothing…. espeacially the sales agent not really care what happen to you… calls her xxx times also dont answer

I also went to Philimore and they treat me like a dog.No one entertain me!May be they think I’m stupid Indian with no money and just wasting their time entertain me.Out of frustration I out from the Philimore office.

Waduh pak… burung-burungnya mahal…engak bisa…kalau serbisnya bagus dong, enggak apa…. yang ini agennya sudah bagitu, memang engak harus dipeduli ya…. mungkin agen nya sudah dapat duit habuan Obama jadi engak ma cari bisness…. selamat mencoba cari burung-burungnya ya….

but the price seems very steep. You might want to take a local Sarawakian.. flight RM300 (use AirAsia).. pay RM650… and you can give them free meal..

Hello brader, muhahahahahaaaaa….. orang kata, minyak naik, semua naik … tapi sekarang ni minyak affordable, how come masih mahal? Lagi pun those maids that comes from PH or IN are via the cheapest transport on the earth, tak pernah fly punya. So, if they ask RM10K or RM7K, i believe only 20% is the agencies cost of bringing the maids here, balance 80% masuk poket sendiri. V need people to provide community service, bukan potong leher community!!…. muhahahahahaaa….

Thats quite an expensive deal for hiring a maid.Why don’t you just get someone from back home as hiring those foreign maids could be risky too and it may take a longer time to complete the procedure before the maid could be made available.
