Tugu Negara

Well, what can I say … I’ve lived in KL for almost 20 years now and last month was the first time I visited Tugu Negara (the National Monument), located not so far from Taman Tasik Perdana (KL Lake Garden) along Jalan Parlimen. If it wasn’t because of my uncle’s visit I wouldn’t have been there myself.

Did you know?

The seven patriots represents loyalty, sacrifice and cooperation of the people of Malaysia. The National Monument was erected as a memorial to those men and women who died in WWII and during the emergency times from communist threats in then Malaya.

Best time to visit the monument is in the evening when the sun is setting down. Entrance is free but parking is limited.

  1. Amiey # Next time you visit KL make sure you go there again and take some pictures.

Peter # Thanks for dropping by my friend. It’s normal that we always neglect our own backyard. When I lived in Sunway, I never visited Sunway Lagoon Themepark. Now that I’ve moved elsewhere, I’m eager to go there. We tend to overlook things at our foresights.
