More on Muscat
As usual, my business trip is always hectic. There’s not much of personal time to do sightseeing and the likes. However, on the last day of our trip, I had the evening slot free. Took a cab and went to Muttrah to visit the famous Souq. My mission was to find a fresh/live dates seed to bring back and plant in Malaysia.
Here’s some piccies taken on the last day of my trip in Muscat.
More stunning views from the hotel, facing west this time.
Rocky and sandy mountains. Totally different from what I’m used to back home.
The Sultanate administration regulated the construction of buildings must not be more than six storeys high. As there are vast areas of undeveloped land they want to expand to more areas rather than build skyscrapers like in Dubai that concentrated only in the big cities.
The waterfront at Muttrah overlooking the harbour. It’s a popular spot in the evening.
One of the old castle.
Muttrah by maghrib (dusk).
The trip was a good experience. It changed my perception on the Middle East including it’s people and it’s culture. My business trip was a success. Unfortunately, my mission to find fresh dates had failed.

That castle must be impenetrable.. It’s soo high!
