Quick update on blog improvement.

There’s a new mall in town just opened earlier this week.

Tropicana City Mall,  located at SS2 Casa Damansara is dubbed the pulse of PJ. Despite being only 85% to 90% completed, most of the retailers already began operations in time for Chinese New Year season.

The four storeys mall houses familiar brands from F&B, fashion labels, entertainment and many more. The anchor tenant is Carrefour, occupying the lower ground (LG) level.

It’s 2009! Seeing our two nieces enter Primary 1, it reminds me how those years have gone by really fast.

It was as if they’re still in their kindergarten age. Aren’t they look so cute in those blue uniforms?

MV Doulos, a German-owned world’s oldest active ocean-faring passenger ship made it’s final visit to Kuching last December.

Hearing that the floating book store is going to be decommissioned in 2010, I decided to bring our nieces Andrea & Ika to visit the ship to bid farewell.

I remembered going there as a small boy with my sister and parents. We bought jigsaw puzzle and some books. That was donkey years ago. I’m not even sure if the puzzle is still in possession inside the store room or somewhere.

It felt great to see the girls were so excited seeing a big ship. If possible, they wanted to buy books from every nooks and corners. Their uncle was made RM132 poorer in the end.

Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to take picture with the ship in the background because it suddenly rained heavily the moment we got out of the car. We only managed to pose on the deck for a couple of minutes before it started raining heavily again.

From my observation, the turn out was quite poor this time. I guess Kuching folks are not interested to see the ship anymore. It was sad to learn that MV Doulos had to be decommissioned.

It’s fruit season in Kuching at the moment. Durian and rambutan are almost over. Jackfruit is still abundance.

Babuk Andrea is so proud of his jackfruit tree that is generously fruiting this year in his orchard.
