Last Saturday I attended my company’s last ever dinner before I formally move to my new job and before the rests of my colleagues officially being outsourced to AT&T, EDS and T-systems depending on their service lines. The dinner was held at KL Convention Center, a second time in a consecutive year. I like the location because the ballroom halls are huge and spacious. After dinner you can just walk to Jalan P. Ramlee for another session of partying.

I’ve been sick this past couple of weeks. It started last week Tuesday. Went to new office on Wednesday, the in-house doctor sent me home for a day. Came in half-day on Thursday for my meeting with the facilities management company (FMC) and was working from home for the rest of that day. Friday was a PH, in lieu of the King’s birthday so I was at home recuperating and hybernating. Saturday was feeling better but it turned out a false sign as I was down again on Sunday afternoon. Vommitted a few times that night plus diarrheoea and bad headache. The Mrs was suppose to be on nights but had to call in for EL to look after me.

The Big G’s announcement that RON97 price is up by 78sen to RM2.70 per liter runs panic into most Malaysians. I still can’t understand some Malaysians are so kiasu that they start to queue up at petrol stations from 3pm till midnight to fill up their tank. As if, by filling up it could save them their pocket for the rest of the year. As if, by joining the long queue would help them to sustain that full tank for the rest of 2008. Such are mentality for some of us.
